Step 1: Pasta
Boil any kind of pasta you want. I used whole wheat rotini, but have used plain old spaghetti before!
Step 2: Veggies
I heat up about a tablespoon of butter in a frying pan and throw in some garlic and oregano (you could use olive oil instead and use any combo of spices you want!). Then, I add about a cup of frozen mixed veggies, and stir occasionally until they are heated up!
Step 3: Assemble & Eat!
Drain the pasta, then pour it on the plate or bowl you want to use. Pour the veggies on top. I like to sprinkle a little cheese on top. And that's it. You're done! Eat and enjoy!!!
*Safety note:
This whole meal can be prepared while holding a baby with the exception of the draining of noodles and pouring of hot food out of pans onto a plate. I recommend putting your baby safely out of the way for the minute or two this takes. But NEVER carry a hot pot or pan above a baby's head!!! Also, be sure to keep your baby a safe distance away from boiling water and hot butter/oil. I stir with my right hand while Baby's on my left hip and my body is turned to the side so I'm completely between him and the hazards.

ReplyDeleteI do a little something like this too. Sometimes I like to add raw garlic and olive oil and maybe some herbs to the mix but generally it's about the same. Thanks for linking with me!!!
